It makes sense that you would want to know whether Final Fantasy 16 allows multiplayer as the Final Fantasy series, despite typically featuring separate plots, always placed a strong focus on friends and party members. The latest RPG from Square Enix may center on Clive, but it would be wonderful to bring a companion along.
Final Fantasy 16’s release date is rapidly approaching, and fans are hoping it’ll be among the best PS5 RPGs yet. We’ve got terrible news for those of you who were planning to play Final Fantasy 16 with your pals as you got to know all the characters, though.
Is Final Fantasy 16 multiplayer co-op?
As confirmed by the Square Enix support center for the game, which states that there can only be one player at a time, Final Fantasy 16 is solely a single-player game and does not include any multiplayer features.
Given how few Final Fantasy games have multiplayer, this may not come as a surprise to many of you. Others, however, might find it surprising because Final Fantasy XIV’s director, Naoki Yoshida, is also the producer of the series’ MMORPG entry, Final Fantasy 16.

However, this does not imply that the game will never include a multiplayer feature. Comrades, a DLC expansion that was released after the game’s initial release, added multiplayer to Final Fantasy XV. Sadly, Final Fantasy 16’s DLC content plans have not yet been officially announced.
